Sheep Shearing Demonstration
Saturday, May 9, 2026
10:00-2:00 p.m.
Howell Station Event Center
Avimor, Eagle, ID
Free!
Sheep will be shorn every 20 minutes!
Watch professional shearers in action while they give sheep their annual haircut. Shearing is a painless process that removes the wool from a sheep, similar to you getting a haircut!
Did you know shearing is an essential part of sheep production? Aside from hair sheep, sheep do not naturally drop their wool. Unless removed, sheep will keep growing more and more wool, eventually causing mobility and quality of life issues. Shearing is essential for sheep's health and well being!
After shearing, the wool is then used to make a variety of products and the sheep go back to munching on grass and living their lives.
